Diagnosis

Frons, mesoscutum, scutellum and propodeum metallic purple; mesoscutum entirely with engraved and rather strong reticulation, notauli as narrow and distinct grooves in posterior ½; scutellum with engraved and rather strong reticulation; female with first gastral tergite with sides with strong striation.

USA (Florida).

Biology

From Homaledra sabalella (Chambers) (Lepidoptera: Coleophoridae) on Thrinax sp. (Arecaceae).

Similar species in Lucid key

cericornis, but ignotus with dark brown flagellum; to ioides but ignotus with vertex with a simple median groove.

elongatus, but ignotus with small eyes, DE/DO = 5.3.< /FONT >
